Stack The Bench
I’m not used to the 9-5 yet, and as a result I left what is still a massive party at The Bench still at 3:30 in the morning. After an interesting evening last night, I ended up DJing a local Halloween house-party across from the Midtown W where I played and Michael Jackson’s Thriller for over two hour, tonight I decided to try it different.
First off, big thanks to The Bench for being a wonderful host for this event. Secondly, big up to ThunderKiss for bringing in the crazy sound system, and light rig for the evening. It was an amazing use of the space, and I feel bad for those of you who were unfortunate to not see how it all came together. And most importantly thanks to all of you who made it out to support the event and make it the rager that it still is while I write this.
Our own Rowland got things set off early with the most explosive dubstep set I’ve heard him play in a while, banging tracks galore and a steady supply of wobble set the bar high for the evening and set the musical mood for what was to come. I ended up coming on and bringing some very dirty drum and bass tracks and eventually switching over to fidget, and a short homage to my musical explorations of last night. Proximal came in right behind me and kept the dubstep vibe moving for the majority of his set, and DANCEFORMERS and ThunderKiss were doing some explosive CDJ + Ableton mashup insanity that I can’t really put into words. It is time now however to succumb to sleep. Keep checking this space in the next few days as DANCEFORMERS and others I’m sure will have plenty to say about the shenanigans of tonight as well. Until then, I leave you with this:
